You may know me as a creative life coach, but did you know that my creativity is nourished by my own art making? I work with mixed media: acrylic, pencil, charcoal, fabric, geli prints, special papers, metal and found objects. Each piece is unique and comes from deep exploration at a soul level. All the pieces I sell are originals. I have learned to honor and respect the images and colors that call to me. My study with Michelle Cassou (Founder of Process Painting) has enhanced my self taught approach over many decades. Much of my work has been influenced by the energy, land and people of Taos, New Mexico. I’d refer to myself as an abstract artist with a leaning toward primitive contemporary style.

The title of this piece is a quote attributed to Julian of Norwich, a contemplative and mystic who lived during very dark times and was given hope through the simplicity of a hazelnut. God revealed to her that in spite of not being able to see light or hope, all things would be well.
My life journey has been a patchwork of light and dark, of hope and deep sadness. This painting was actually a prayer that I wrote on canvas at a time of a dark night of the soul. Over the ensuing months of leaning into that grief, I found my way into hope. I was able to go back to the prayer and highlight the words that helped me get out of the swampland of the soul.
